What a meaningful community engagement! Our association members volunteered at the largest sporting event in Houston – Chevron Marathon. In close partnership with Houston Police Department’s Alumni Association, members volunteered at the finish line as well as assisted in various cross points, ensuring safety to over 50,000 visitors and supporters.
Thank you Chevron and Bruce Niemeyer, President of Americas Production and Exploration at Chevron, and all team of Chevron corporation for hosting another successful Houston Marathon! FACT: first marathon took place in 1972 with 113 runners. This year – over 33,000 (!) runners. What an energizing and empowering way to kick off 2024 with continuous collaboration with Houston’s leadership- newly elected Mayor Whitmire and so many others community leaders.
