We look forward to welcoming you to the 2024 FBINCAAA National Leadership Conference in Detroit, Michigan, June 26-28, 2024. Our nation’s Motor City has much to offer. In addition to its auto industry roots, Detroit is rich in history, theatre, music (does Motown sound familiar?), and potato chips. Yes, Detroit’s population eats more potato chips than the normal U.S. consumer!

The conference will be held at the world-class MotorCity Casino Hotel, which boasts expansive conference facilities, a luxurious spa and fitness center, both fine and casual dining, live music, and other enticing amenities like a Topgolf Swing Suite.

Will we have events for guests? Yes, registered guests may attend evening events, including the Awards Program on Wednesday night. Note that only CAAA members and FBI employees may attend the daytime conference meetings. 

Will I be able to take advantage of the special room rate at the hotel so I can arrive early or stay  after the conference? The hotel will extend group rates, contingent upon availability, as early as Saturday, June 22 and/or as late as Sunday, June 30, 2024 (check out). Book by June 2, 2024 to take advantage of preferred rates.

What is the cancellation policy? Conference registration fees are non-refundable; however, you may transfer your registration to another Chapter member. To transfer conference registrations, email [email protected].

Hotel reservations may be cancelled up to 48 hoursprior to date of arrival without financial penalty.

What airport serves Detroit?

Detroit is served by Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW). MotorCity Casino Hotel is approximately 19.4 miles from the airport and easily reached by Uber, Lyft, or taxi. If you are driving, complimentary parking is available at the MotorCity Casino Hotel.

Be prepared for three full days of educational programs, keynote speakers, networking events, and celebrations designed to showcase and inspire best practices in Chapter leadership. Registration opens at 8:00 am on Wednesday, June 26 followed by pre-conference training workshops for Chapter leaders from 8:30 am to noon. The full conference kicks off early Wednesday afternoon and continues through Friday evening’s special networking event.

NOTE: Only registered FBI Citizens Academy alumni and FBI personnel may attend the day sessions.


Deputy Director Paul Abbate oversees all FBI domestic and international investigative and intelligence activities. He is a fierce advocate for the agency’s outreach programs and its partnership with FBINCAAA.

From resource planning to finance, facilities, human resources, diversity and inclusion, security and more, Associate Deputy Director Brian Turner is responsible for the FBI’s corporate business operations.

Robert Contee III, Assistant Director for the FBI’s Office of Partner Engagement (OPE) oversees programs to build relationships and share information with the Bureau’s law enforcement partners.

Cheyvoryea “Shea” Gibson serves as Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Detroit Field Office. Since joining the FBI in 2003, he has worked in a variety of roles overseeing investigations of violent crimes.


Conference faculty will facilitate leadership development and training programs on topics ranging from community outreach, alumni engagement, fundraising, strategic planning, and building strong FBI and community partnerships. Chapter leaders will share best practice case studies in outreach programming.


Gain an inside view of crimes investigated and solved by the FBI. Presented by agents, staff, and attorneys involved with the cases.

Register now and save $100 off the full conference registration rate. A discounted rate of $450 will go into effect from March 1 to April 30, with the full registration fee of $500 taking effect on May 1.

Guest Registration. You may register up to 4 guests at $175 each. Guests may attend all evening events.



The conference will be held at the MotorCity Casino Hotel. Hotel reservations must be made separately from the conference registration. You must be registered for the conference to take advantage of the special room rate of $162 per night plus taxes and fees.

These preferred rates are available through June 2, 2024; after June 2, reservations are based upon space and rate availability.
