HOUSTON
FBI Houston Citizens Academy Alumni Association
April 10 to 12, 2024, during FBI Houston CAAA tour to Washington, DC, we embarked on an exhilarating journey beyond the gates of Quantico. Our visit started with a private coffee meeting with Senator John Cornyn of Texas. What an exciting time to be at the Capitol! Prime Minister of Japan was on the official State Visit and, at the exact moment while we were on the Hill, provided his remarks to the American leadership. With support of Senator Cornyn, we were granted a year long passes to the Senate and Congress Galleries!
We navigated the dazzling Embassy row, where a lavish diplomatic reception awaited, accompanied by insightful discussions with the distinguished NATO Ally - Ambassador Maris Selga of Latvia. We also delved into the secretive world of espionage during a private meeting with the Executive Director of the Spy Museum Chris Combs and explored its captivating exhibit - Bond In Motion. The group engaged in a thought-provoking dialogue with a representative from the State Department’s International Security office, providing a unique insight into global affairs. Alumni association members were also hosted at the Embassy of Ukraine and participated in a very honest dialogue with Embassy's Chief of Staff Denys Sienik. Our visit concluded by a private tour of the Decatur House, led by the Chief Historian on the White House Historical Association.
What an unforgettable experience and what a memorable way to create long lasting alumni friendships!
